Scottish Country Dance group.
Formed in 1952, with our first Ball in 1962. The beginners class was formed in 1995.
Anybody can join in and you don’t have to be Scots nor wear the kilt. Just come along and enjoy evenings of friendship and fun. After becoming familiar with the steps and the dances then members will attend the weekly main dance evenings held at St Edmunds Church hall Weymouth or the Village hall at Charminster near Dorchester. Many of our members attend the annual residential weekend of Scottish Dancing held at Halsway Manor. This year is the 33rd. Such event. Charity dances are held at Broadmayne village hall and Weymouth Chickerell village Willowbed hall in support of C.L.I.C. This year the 8th such dance held raised approximately £400.
Our demonstration dance group appear at functions throughout the year in support of charity.
